Raytheon is offering exciting opportunities for New Graduates of a Masters Degree program in Information Security, Information Assurance, or a closely related technical subject
The Systems Engineer II (Information Systems Security Engineer) is responsible for system engineering leveraging analytical and problem solving skills in a team environment. This engineer will participate in designing and documenting secure architectures, contributing to the definition of system security requirements, writing security test procedures, performing security testing to include vulnerability testing in support of Computers and Network, Software Developers, and System Engineering teams.
Additionally, this position will participate in the selection and configuration of system COTS hardware and software. Will provide documentation support for system security certification and accreditation and reaccreditations, including Concept of Operations, System Security plans, System Security training, Risk Analysis, and Security Test and Evaluation.
The Information Systems Security Engineer is a member of the Aurora Security Engineering team with responsibilities that include:
Information System Perimeter Defense implementation, Security COTS integration, Operating System Hardening, Script Development, Access Control, Public Key Infrastructure, etc.
Travel will be required - up to 25%. Travel is typically in the continental U.S.
Basic Qualifications - Required Skills, Experience:
MS degree in Information Assurance, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or another applicable Engineering or Computer related degree.
Must have completed the applicable masters degree within the last 18 months, or will be graduating in 2008.
Must have achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher overall.
Completed five or more college courses in Information Security related technologies such as: Firewalls, encryption, access control (LDAP, ACL, RBAC, etc.), network security, operating system security, boundary protection, certification and accreditation, System Security Architecture, System Security Engineering, Network security design, etc.
Ability to travel up to 25%. Travel is typically in the continental U.S.
REQUIRES US CITIZENSHIP.
Requires ability to satisfy requirements for a Top Secret SCI SSBI security clearance.
Desired Experience, Skills, Knowledge:
Vulnerability Assessment experience, PKI experience, experience in design and implementation of secure network solutions including DMZs and web portals.
Coursework in UNIX system administration, Windows administration, routers, switches, etc.
Previous Certification and Accreditation experience of Government-owned systems
Ability to write security requirements, plans, and policies
Requirements Development / Management
Operational procedure development
Rational Unified Process, UML
Exposure to DCID 6/3, DITSCAP/DIACAP, or NIST SP 800-53 requirements
Experience with any of the following scripting languages: Perl, Shell Script, etc.
Excellent technical writing and documentation development skills
