Chevron Federal Credit Union is looking for a Security Engineer for its headquarters in the City Center area of Oakland, California, near the 12th Street BART station.  The primary responsibilities for this position will be will be performing systems and network analysis, project planning and implementation, and recommendation of security solutions in a 24 x 7 heterogeneous environment.  The person in this position will be a strong leader and have a demonstrated ability to multi-task, establish deadlines and meet them, and set priorities based on business requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

 

·         Work to continually develop, enhance and support organizations’ IDS, IDP and security measures.

·         Research, evaluate, test, and recommend new technologies and solutions.

·         Participate in security architecture planning as well as capacity planning sessions.

·         Perform scheduled security auditing of network devices.

·         Monitoring and reporting of firewall policy usage, attacks and mitigation effectiveness, ACL usage.

·         Provide network support for a distributed WAN/LAN environment on Cisco infrastructure including DMZ architecture and perimeter security. 

·         Oversee the implementation of new technology.  Manage the project timeline and operational changes, and provide documentation and training to the administrator base.  Requires skills in planning, project management with hands-on technical knowledge.

·         Maintain all server software and hardware to ensure the latest software service releases, service packs, and patches are installed.

·         Provide UNIX system administration support.  Maintain and install OS defect and security patches. Monitor and optimize server operations.  Familiarity with VxVM in a SAN environment a plus.

·         Participate in planning sessions for the selection and support of new and existing applications and technology.

·         Provide top tier Windows NT 2000 system administration as required.

·         Maintain documentation of systems and policies as well as documentation on the network infrastructure.

·         Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

 

·         Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four‑year college or university and/or commensurate experience; five years plus work experience supporting a Windows NT/2000 environment. 

·         Five years plus supporting AIX.  Strong knowledge of TCP/IP required.  Knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls required.  OSPF, EIGRP required.  Knowledge of Veritas Volume Manager, NetBackup DC, Brocade switches, SQL database a plus. Knowledge of SAN environments required.  CCNA/CCNP/MCSE certifications are a plus.
