Description:
Information Security Architect Principal Leader - Government Specific Requirements: Conducts Verification and Validation for security compliance of all Information Systems, Products and Components. Analyzes design specifications, analyzes design documentations, analyzes configuration practices and procedures, analyzes operational practices and procedures, provides identification of non-compliance of security requirements, provides possible mitigations to requirements that are not in compliance, conducts on-site evaluations, validates the security requirements of the IS, verifiers the system meets the security requirements, validates the system meets the security requirements, provides vulnerability assessment of the system, coordinates penetration testing, and provides a comprehensive verification and validation report (certification report) for the Information System. Mentors Security Information System Validator. Provides process improvement recommendations. Develops standards and guidelines for usage. Must possess experience of security or system engineering in five or more areas including telecommunications concepts, operating systems, databases/DBMS, middleware, applications, web-servers, SANS/Netaps, Active Directory, Firewalls, and Controlled Interfaces. Designs more complex application security architecture. Coordinates technical design/review activities with various groups including application development, enterprise architecture, information security, systems, network, and database groups to develop secure frameworks and enterprise applications.
Designs the enterprise security infrastructure and architectural topology including recommending hardware, operating system, software, and information security requirements to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, availability, and privacy of information systems. Ensure consistency and sufficient integration with existing infrastructure.
Monitors, evaluates, and maintains systems and procedures to safeguard internal information systems and databases from unauthorized users.
Researches, recommends and implements changes to procedures and systems to enhance security.
Creates incident response plans, including coordination with appropriate departments, other business units, and appropriate authorities.
Educates customers to increase awareness of information security policies and best practices.
Collaborates with outside consultants/agencies as appropriate for independent security audits. Collaborates with business management to communicate security risk and countermeasures.
May assist and/or provide limited direction to lower level technical personnel.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelors degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred
Nine or more years of experience in information security
Experience working with computer systems
Experience working with current and emerging information security technologies and development methodologies
Experience working with network software and hardware, data or voice
Experience working with proprietary software and hardware
