Overview: Global Manufacturing (GMfg) Information Protection Analyst (IPA) is responsible for internal information risk technology and compliance. The GMfg IPA performs a variety of services to assist the Refining sites and Central Applications with their information risk and security efforts. This position reports to the GMfg CIS Information Risk Management (IRM) Manager and works in the GMfg IRM compliance team.

Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: • Performs assessments of information systems and processes, prepares written reports of the results and prepares remediation plans including compliance with policies for Information Protection (security), Process Control (PCN) IP, Privacy, Information Management, Sarbanes-Oxley, Business Continuity Planning, Export Compliance, and Intellectual Property Rights • Performs risk assessments of business processes and IT systems to determine potential security vulnerabilities and assists in the determination of ways to minimize security risks. Prepares written report of the results of the risk assessment. • Performs reviews of information processes, prepares written reports of the results and develops recommendations to improve existing processes and/or to establish new processes • Performs information protection compliance support on projects for the business using Chevron's project management methodology (CPDEP). • Prepares and performs presentations related to information technology security and information protection for the business. • Recommends information protection training requirements for the business. • Provide technical expertise for GMfg CIS on information technology security and information protection on the GMfg IT Infrastructure. • Work with other organizations (GLIRM, IA, ITC, Legal, GDS) to understand, improve, recommend, adopt, and test technologies, standards, policies, and risks that will lead to reliable, safe, and compliant IT processes and systems. This position requires travel (estimated at 30% - 60%) to Chevron GMfg locations worldwide. Successful candidate must have a current passport and/or appropriate visas and be able to meet the travel requirements.
Required (Basic) Qualifications: • Candidates should have a minimum of 5 to 7 years of overall increased responsibility in directly related types of positions. • Effective planning and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to manage several projects and activities simultaneously while adhering to schedules. Skilled in applying project management (CPDEP) methodology. • Effective analytical and problem solving skills including experience evaluating technologies, processes, security standards and best practices. • Ability to complete assignments while demonstrating behaviors consistent with company values in areas such as diversity, teamwork, personal safety, environmental safety and respect for co-workers. • Good interpersonal, teamwork and facilitation skills. Ability to work with and communicate with employees ranging from IT analysts to managers. • Good oral and written communication skills - ability to write and speak effectively. Skilled at making presentations to groups. The successful candidate should have experience in at least one of the following areas: • Information Technology Systems Administrator/Network Administrator - experienced in supporting (hands-on) a wide variety of computing systems, technologies and processes including operating systems (Windows, UNIX, etc.), applications, telecommunications systems, firewalls, databases, routers and WAN/LAN • Information Technology Systems Auditor - experienced in conducting a wide variety of audits of computing systems, technologies and processes including operating systems (Windows, UNIX, etc.), applications, telecommunications systems, firewalls, databases, routers and WAN/LAN • PCN Security Analyst - experience in configuring a variety of operating systems and technologies including SCADA and DCS system to current security standards.
Preferred Qualifications: • BA in Information Technology, or other IT related degrees. • Education Preferred Discipline: Network Analyst, Process Control Network Analyst/Administrator or Windows Systems Administrator • Business Continuity Planning - experience in conducting Business Impact Analysis sessions, facilitating IT recovery workshops, writing plans, coordinating exercises, and aligning with Emergency Mgmt. • Information Management - experience in applying a corporate retention policy, performing Information Management system compliance assessments, and development of Information Management policies, standards, and controls.
