Description: The Industrial Hygienist will play a key role in providing safety and health technical support for the organization. This position interacts with all levels of BP employees, as well as contract personnel, government agencies and other BP safety representatives throughout the company. This position will be responsible for compliance with all federal and state safety and health regulations. Qualifications: Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in IH, Public Health, Safety or related discipline.
A minimum of 2 years of IH experience in a refinery/petrochemical plant or a minimum of 2 years of related experience in other manufacturing industries.
Basic computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
The ability to relate to staff at all levels in a diverse and multicultural environment.
Strong organizational skills.
The ability to work under pressure to agreed deadlines
If you are selected for a position at the Texas City Refinery, your employment will be contingent upon submission to and successful completion of pre-placement verification of the information and qualifications provided during the selection process, as well as a post-offer/pre-placement medical screen which includes a drug and alcohol screen. The drug screen requires a hair test for which BP must be able to obtain a sufficient hair sample for analysis (~4 cm/1 " scalp, or > 2 cm/" body - arms and armpits/legs/chest).
