Description:The candidate will be required to provide IMS technical support for multiple large mainframe ZOS computer environments. Responsibilities include installation, testing, customization and maintenance of IMS DBMS Software and third-party software products and providing client support 24-by-7, utilising system facilities, real-time monitoring and reporting products. The position will involve a high degree of technical complexity and a significant level of customer interface.
Experience Required:
* A thorough understanding of mainframe components & internals covering the areas of IMS/DBM, IMS/TM and related products, including RACF & ACF2 security, interconnectivity of various subsystems to different platforms.
* Experienced with IMS interface for Oracle Access Manager & Gateway software
* A full understanding of sysplex system architecture and the installation process for a large mainframe LPAR environments
* Knowledge of IBM program products and other related program products
* In depth knowledge of IBM's utilities and their terminologies, as well as third party software
Skills:
* Design, code and maintain IMS system exits
* Fluent with IBM assembler programming language
* ZOS diagnostic and dump analysis for IMS systems
* Performance analysis & tuning for IMS
* The ability to manage small groups, lead projects and coordinate multiple tasks under time and resource constraints
* The ability to deal with complex problems and issues and then be able to propose intelligent practical solutions
* The ability to prioritize workloads effectively to meet changing business needs
* Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
* Project management experience would be an advantage
* Self motivated and self directed individual with a positive attitude
* Ability to work well in a team environment
* Ability to project a professional image to both outsourced and potential clients
* Overtime and weekend work occasionally required, some travel necessary
* Provide a 7/24 service on-call to clients
* Must be able to work with staff in geographically diverse
Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or related field preferred
Seven or more years of systems programming experience
Experience working with appropriate application programming, programming languages and analysis procedures
Experience working with software, systems, applications and network markets
Experience working with business environment, market needs and competition
Experience working with company software and hardware products and client software needs and hardware equipment
Experience working with data warehousing standards, strategies and tools, and company testing methodologies and other relevant technical procedures
Other Qualifications Good leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel
Strong communication skills to communicate with other team members, customers and management and to provide documentation to appropriate personnel
Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills
Strong data analysis and software testing skills to test program modifications and enhancements
Strong analytical and problem solving skills for design and development of application software packages
Strong ability to lead, work independently and as a part of a team
Ability to work with relational databases
