GKN Industrial & Distribution Services supports customers of GKN's driveline products with the most comprehensive range of new and remanufactured sideshafts and components for the passenger vehicle aftermarket on a worldwide basis. The business also provides an OES approved service to repair and replace heavy truck propshafts and will engineer and produce low volume, highly specialized driveline components. Industrial & Distribution Services operates remanufacturing plants, warehouses and service facilities throughout Europe.

 

GKN Industrial & Distribution Services is currently looking for a Import & Distribution Planning Specialist for our new Woodridge, IL. warehouse location to manage inbound and outbound product planning for assigned international suppliers and customers.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Demand Planning:

-Primary logistics and scheduling contact for assigned customers.

-Ensure component availability, and communicate demand changes to suppliers.

-Ensure timely shipment of all customer requirements.

-Enter, maintain, and monitor releases and forecast data, and resolve data problems.

-Perform Purchasing function for direct inventory and indirect items as needed.

-Prepare and manage truck schedules, communicate shipment requirements to shipping.

-Regular performance reporting.

 

Supply Planning:

-Determine material requirements to support requirements and minimizw inventory investment.

-Communicate material requirements to assigned suppliers, primarily overseas.

-Ensure adherence to supply schedules (supplier and/or production).

-Provide production-planning support as required.

-Work with production cell to prioritize and supervise work.

-Establish pack sizes and lead times, and monitor adherence; act as intermediary between supplier and customer.

-Maintain MRP data for assigned parts and suppliers.

-Work with freight providers to prioritize and schedule inbound shipments.

 

Quality System Administration:

-Maintain Quality Records/Systems in accordance to ISO/QS/TS standards.

-Prepare and submit Quality Documentation including PPAP's and problem resolution reports to customers.

-Coordinate Quality audits.

 

Qualifications:

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

-3-5 yrs planning exp; high-volume, automotive exp preferred.

-Strong manufacturing systems exp: MRPII, EDI, spreadsheets.

-Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts.

-Knowledge of quality systems.

-Fork lift exp and a valid Illinois drivers license.

 

Education:

-Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business or related field

-Professional certification preferred.
