Covidien's plant in St. Louis, MO (formerly Tyco Healthcare), just minutes from downtown St. Louis, has an immediate openings for Instrument Mechanics. The plant manufactures various bulk pharmaceutical products. You must answer the screening questions in order to apply for the position. The company offers excellent hourly pay and full benefits.

Schedule:

Schedule is either a 12 hour rotating schedule (rotates between days and nights, 12 hour shifts) or
Day Shift, 5 Days a Week, 8-Hour Schedule. Schedule may vary depending on demands of the business.

Education:

Minimum of a High School Diploma. Must be mathematically competent.

Strongly prefer a degree from a technical trade school or the equivalent of such a degree, in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year university or college in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field a big plus.

Background Preferred:

At least five (5) years of experience as an Instrument Mechanic/Technician, in a manufacturing/industrial environment. Chemical plant experience is a plus.

Knowledge of various types of instruments used in the measurement and control of system pressures, weight, temperatures, conductivity, pH, levels, flow, and density.

Knowledge of electrical theory and its practical applications

Able to inspect, calibrate, measure, and test equipment at prescribed intervals using established procedures with certified equipment traceable to a nationally recognized standard or document equivalent.

Able to use multi meters, Hart communicators, frequency calibrators, weights, pressure calibrators, flow meters, digital pressure indicators, RTD calibrators, digital manometers, digital tachometers, etc. to conduct single point and loop calibrations of above listed instrumentation

Must have experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing defective industrial process instrumentation in a timely manner.

Working knowledge of Lock-Out/Tag-Out methods and related OSHA safety practices.

Practical experience with FDA regulations and cGMP guidelines is a big plus.
