We are currently seeking an experienced HVAC Technician (3+ yrs experience) who will assist with maintaining and repairing facility HVAC equipment.  In addition to having knowledge of general building maintenance, candidates should have experience with cooling tower water chemistry and control systems along with general heating, ventilation, AC and refrigeration systems.  This is an opportunity to put your HVAC, technical and customer service skills to use at one of San Diego’s largest Corporate Office facilities, incorporating 500,000+ sq ft.

Please note:  This position will require weekend work (2 Saturdays/month) as well as some on call responsibilities. 

 

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Schedules and perform HVAC system maintenance & repairs (Air Handlers, Exhaust Fans, cooling towers, pumps, air compressors, vacuum pumps, water treatment, central plant equipment).Maintains documentation (daily logs, corrective maintenance records, history files, etc)Initiates corrective action maintenance to meet operational commitments; keep management informed of status & issues.Assists with operations of the building management system (Seimens)  Point of contact for HVAC, refrigeration, compressed air, and vacuum system issues; coordinating with staff, vendors and other groups as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

3+ yrs experience with HVAC systems.Trade school and/or HVAC/EPA certification(s) helpful.Knowledge of cGMP documentation requirements helpful.Building Management System (BMS) experience preferred.Beginning knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.Good driving record for driving company vehicles between Gen-Probe buildings.
