We are currently seeking an HVAC Engineer to work the 3rd Shift at our client's Data Center in Eagan, MN. This skilled team player will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, operation and repair of all mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, including chillers, building automation systems and controls, pumps, lighting, generators, fire life safety system, sprinkler systems, and washrooms.

Specific duties will include:
• Participate in the efficient operation of all building systems of a dual-use office & international data center building.
• Assist with monitoring the operation of electrical and mechanical equipment supporting the facility and facility's critical operations.
• Oversees the efficient operation of all building systems and informs Lead Electrician/Engineer, first, Account Manager, second, of any conditions affecting building services and tenant comfort of safety.
• Maintains responsibility for tenant services, preventive maintenance, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance, general maintenance and technical proficiency.
• Installs, maintains and repairs equipment, physical structures, pipe and electrical systems within the office building either personally, through on-site staff, or through contracted personnel.
• Performs all tenant service requests and communicates with the Service Coordinator to establish tenant service request work priorities.
• Ensures the work performed in the critical areas and office space is accomplished with a minimum of disruption and is followed by adequate cleanup.
• Accurately and expediently completes tenant service work forms and returns them in a timely fashion to the Service Coordinator.
• Performs general maintenance work as needed.
• Paints and sweeps mechanical rooms.
• Maintains lighting in mechanical rooms, equipment rooms, elevator rooms, and, common areas of the building. If required, will record water and electricity meter readings.
• Understands the engineering/electrical design and operational aspects of each building system.
• Immediately recognizes system shortcoming when they occur and directs experimentation with building systems to yield a more energy efficient or comfortable building.
• Monitors the allocation of building resources to various base building and tenant needs. Devises technical enhancements which will improve some aspect of building operation.
• Identifies equipment which may require replacement or reconditioning resulting in the need for owner's capital.
• Conducts all activities in a business-like, competent and professional manner. Interacts with contractors, vendors, and consultants in an unbiased, objective and ethical manner.
• Complies with all polices and procedures established for the building.  Treats all fellow employees, industry contacts and building visitors fairly, impartially and in a non-discriminatory fashion.

Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minnesota State Boiler Certification -2nd Class C
• 5 years minimum working experience
• Trade School or apprentice program completion
• Ability to work at heights, work in changing temperatures, and lift move and/or carry heavy (up to 70 pounds) objects
• Ability to analyze the operation of the various systems, determine the cause of any problem/ malfunctions and corrective action
• Ability to immediately recognize system shortcomings and respond to operational and emergency situations
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Computer proficiency in MS Office
