Kettle Cuisine (www.kettlecuisine.com) has been preparing its famous fresh & frozen soups made from scratch, using the finest high quality natural ingredients since 1986.  Located in Chelsea, MA (just North of Boston), our soups are distributed nationally in both the food service and retail channels.  The company, a pioneer in high quality fresh prepared food, is growing, profitable and financially stable.  We currently employ a staff of 120 and are looking to fill the position of Human Resources Manager to spearhead all HR activities for the firm.  This person must be bi-lingual in Spanish.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire HR function including payroll, benefits administration and employee relations.  The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for the planning, development and implementation of human resources policies and programs including performance evaluation, employment, training, equal employment opportunity and affirmative action. 

 

This position is responsible for assuring that specific HR tasks are completed legally, on-time, completely, and in accordance with Company policy and practice. You will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and work closely with other managers and employees at large. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

 

·     Administering Payroll for the Corporation

·     Providing human resources support and guidance on employee relations issues to department managers.

·     Advising and assisting managers and employees with interpretation of Company Policies and Procedures in both Spanish and English.

·     Ensuring compliance with all federal and state employment laws.

·     Administering employee health, welfare and retirement plans for all employees.

·     Coordinating all aspects of hiring process including advertising, screening, background checks, preparation of offer letters, etc.

·     Administering employee leaves including FMLA, Maternity, STD, LTD, and tracking Paid Time Off.

·     Managing Workers' Compensation program.

·     Conducting new-hire orientations; updating orientation program as necessary.    

·     Coordinating the termination process including exit interviews, benefit continuation, return of company property and appropriate documentation and letters as required for involuntary separations.

·     Directs the performance management process including annual performance reviews and management assistance addressing performance problems.

·     Completing various HR projects as assigned and assisting in their implementation

·     Administering training and other aspects of Company’s professional development program.

·     Updating Employee Handbook as necessary.

·     Active member of the Safety Committee and Morale Team.

 

 

 Requirements:

 

·     Bi-lingual in English and Spanish

·     Expert knowledge in all technical aspects of HR including being well versed in federal and Massachusetts employment laws

·     Bachelor’s degree with a SPHR or PHR or Master’s degree strongly preferred

·     Outstanding interpersonal & communication skills (oral and written), able to interact and communicate effectively with employees at all levels  

·     Skilled in conflict resolution and able to deal tactfully and empathetically with employee relations issues

·     A team-player attitude and the flexibility to multi-task and change priorities quickly

·     Computer literacy in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

·     High accuracy and detail orientation 

·     Self-starter and the ability to work efficiently and independently
