Job Title:           Human Resources Manager

 

Location:             Salem, Massachusetts

 

SBU:                     Optoelectronics

 

Reports To:         Director, Human Resources

 

 Purpose 

 

A key member of the Specialty Lighting Human Resources team, this individual will provide general HR support to Business Partners in our Salem, MA and Miamisburg, OH manufacturing sites.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

As the Business Partner for both sites, this individual will:

Ø        Partner with internal customers on organizational design and provide staffing and resource management to achieve those organizational design objectives.

Ø        Act as an internal consultant to leaders, managers, and employees providing coaching and advice on a range of organizational and change issues.

Ø        Drive the Leadership & Organization Review (LOR) performance management process at the employee and organizational level.

Ø        Lead total compensation and reward & recognition processes.

Ø        Drive strong employee relations and manage investigations as needed.

Ø        Partner with internal customers and act as an agent of change to achieve business goals.

Ø        Partner with internal customers to assist in driving process improvement.

 

In addition, this individual will:

Ø           Lead training & development initiative across both sites, with immediate focus on cross-training and oversight of the Workforce Training grant

Ø           Assist with the review, development, and/or communication of policies and procedures

Ø           Drive site and/or SBU projects as assigned.

 

Experience in Kronos Timekeeping Systems, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office very helpful.

 Critical Success Factors 

Ø           Technical Skills:   Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline and 5+ years of progressive human resource generalist experience, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment.  Demonstrated recruitment, employee relations, meeting facilitation, and presentation skills with a solid understanding of employment law.  SPHR/PHR certification is a plus.  Proficient user in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; Ceridian Source experience a plus.

Ø           Communication Skills:  Effectively communicates with and engages all levels of the organization verbally and in writing.  Produces and delivers clear, understandable documentation geared for all audiences.

Ø           Business & Organization Knowledge:  Understands the PerkinElmer business and the role of human resources as a business partner. 

Ø           Management of Resources:   Allocates time efficiently, focusing on ever-shifting priorities.  Actively pursues continuous improvement in HR processes. 

Ø           Change Management:  Exhibits an assertive personality with a strong bias for action with a results-orientation; tackles tough problems with firm deadlines.
