Position Summary:  Responsible for coordinating HR functions and/or programs for International Power Products Group (IPPG). Provide generalist or specialized HR services and/or oversee the provision of HR services that may include recruitment, student programs, employment, employee relations, benefits/payroll administration, compensation/salary administration, organization development, performance management, training, educational assistance, diversity, international assignments/immigration, relocation, special projects & record keeping.  Initiate, development and integration of corporate human resources policies & procedures to align with policy and procedures in effective countries outside the US.  Participate in the development of strategies for business unit or HR department.   

 

Job Responsibilities:            

 

1. Instrumental in planning, development and execution of human resources initiatives for IPPG as primary US HR contact/support.  Through local staff assure compliance with specific countries laws, human resources policies and procedures as well as other applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines; lead and/or work on a variety of special projects. Oversee and/or complete generalist duties to advise managers on both strategic and tactical plans which may include: provide coaching and other  HR support. 

2. Remain current on domestic and international HR and business-related changes; recommend, evaluate and/or make changes in working with HR leadership and business units to support HR and business strategy; maintain positive working relationships with internal & external customers, vendors, agencies and community organizations

3. Identify, develop, document and supervise or recommend continuous improvement of HR processes; deliver innovative solutions to meet client needs

4. Perform full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: EEO/AA, performance management, department budget

COMPETENCIES

 

Job Skills Requirements: 

Comprehensive knowledge of principles & practices of HR, including technology applications, familiarity with domestic and foreign HR regulations & complianceDemonstrated skills in employee relations w/ strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and use sound judgment in decision making; demonstrated ability to partner and influence at all levels in the business and to be viewed as a credible, valuable source of information and integral part of management team Strong organization and time management/project management skills necessary to prioritize and oversee project or team with multiple assignments and to meet set deadlines; ability to react quickly in a fast-paced, changing environmentStrong communication skills to facilitate work with diverse groups of employees; fluency in German, Chinese or other languages preferredSolid computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office; understanding of all interfaces impacting HR function administration Availability for international travel approximately four weeks per year

 

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or equivalent education and experiencePHR or SPHR certification strongly preferred

 

Experience Requirements:

Minimum of eight years related professional, progressive experience in human resources setting, manufacturing preferred which includes a minimum of three years of experience with international operations.Minimum of two years of management experience
