Our client, a well-established, successful organization located in Fort Wayne, Indiana is looking for a dynamic, accomplished HR professional to join their leadership team. This role reports to the CFO and directs all HR activities for a population of 400. This is a great opportunity to be a true HR Business Partner to the business. This position has a strong compensation and benefits package.

Primary duties include:

• Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems ensuring consistency and compliance to company policy and local and federal laws.

• Identify staff vacancies and recruit, interview and select top talent that meets the business needs.

• Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, wages, opportunities for promotion and employee benefits. Create a hiring and on-boarding culture designed to attract and retain the top talent in the industry

• Perform difficult organizational duties, including resolving employee complaints, counseling and firing employees, and administering disciplinary procedures.

• Assist managers in understanding organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend needed changes. Provide an atmosphere that promotes collaboration with the management team in ensuring the organization maintains the most progressive employee relations policies.

• Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements. Balance the needs of the company and the employees in ensuring benefit programs are progressive and cost effective.

• Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.

• Assess organizational needs as related to employee development and retention, making recommendations for training and other developmental opportunities. Design and conduct training curriculum or make recommendations to use outside resources as necessary.

• Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts and helping resolve work-related problems.

• Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, labor relations, employee relations, and payroll

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field plus a minimum of 4 years HR experience at the management level; or a Masters in human resources management or related field and a minimum of two years at the management level. Candidates with a strong equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.

Position requires a willingness to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, requiring little direction, who has a strong sense of integrity and the ability to develop strong business relationships

Requires up to 25% travel to company locations in Manhattan, Cincinnati, Harrisburg, Tampa, Boston, Dallas, and Seattle.
