A Fortune 500 retailer is currently searching for a qualified and experienced Human Resource Director. The primary purpose of this position is to lead a division’s Human Resources function and coordinate the recruitment activities, associate relations efforts, and training initiatives of a group of HR Generalists.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

1.       Provide leadership and development for associates by communicating career opportunities, providing regular performance feedback.

2.       Review divisional salary issues and trends, and develop solutions.

3.       Communicate and implement Human Resources initiatives for employee relations, recruitment and training to advance strategic goals.

4.       Protect the company from liability by providing division management teams with proper knowledge through training and coaching to ensure best personnel decisions are made.

5.       Monitor the compliance of company, state, and federal employment laws within the division.

6.       Oversee labor relations activities and partner with Labor Relations department.

7.       Review and analyze human resources expenses and set budgets.

Qualification Requirements

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Business or related field, plus 2-4 years of retail or related industry management experience with a minimum of 5-7 years experience as a human resources or training/development manager; or equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition, either a Human Resources or Society for Human Resource Management certificate is desired.
