Position Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to manage all Human Resource functions as a member of the store management team. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The Human Resources Coordinator (HRC) must maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality and perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.  This position requires a comprehensive understanding of all necessary operating systems and programs related to these responsibilities.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions):

·        Process highly confidential information, maintaining and respecting confidentiality.

·        Perform staffing duties including, but not limited to, recruiting, performing initial interviews, hiring, pre-employment drug screens, criminal background checks and conducting new hire orientation.

·        Oversee completion of all new hire paperwork and forward to Division HR Department in a timely manner.

·        Monitor delivery of all required training for new hires and development of current associates.

·        Assist store management with associate relations issues.

·        Maintain appropriate staffing levels at home store in accordance with Company policies and staffing guidelines.

·        Payroll administration, including submission of accurate and timely information.

·        Ensure education and compliance with policies on personal appearance, grooming and uniforms.

·        Maintain associate files.

·        Participate and assist in planning various associate events.

·        Coordinate all reward and recognition programs with corporate office.

·        Maintain compliance with all state and federal applicable laws.

·        Maintain Human Resource Communication Boards within the store.

·        Must adhere to all established policies and procedures.

·        Work with co-workers in a professional, respectful, cooperative, and courteous manner.

·        Regular and punctual attendance.

·        Ability to work flexible schedules and overtime as required.

·        Pay close attention to detail.

·        Comply with all safety regulations of the store.

·        Demonstrate positive, customer service, and team-oriented demeanor.

·        Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

Measurements:

Reduced store turnover, measured each quarter.

100% new associates hired using Unicru.

WOTC compliance at 100%.

95%-100% of associates receive performance feedback at least one time per year.

100% completion of quarterly associate Meeting in a Box. (Store Manager will still conduct the meeting)

 

Communication Skills:

The Human Resource Coordinator must be able to communicate effectively when dealing with other associates, supervisors, operations managers and staff.  This includes the use of nonverbal communication including eye contact, body language and posture.

·        Communicate and interact effectively and amicably with the team including other associates, supervisors, and operations managers in the store and exercise consideration for others.

·        Exhibit a high level of patience and cooperation.

·        Be a team player and contribute positively to team effort.

·        Communicate about change in a positive manner, without personal opinion or bias.

·        Ability to accept directions from supervisors, operations managers and other staff.

·        Convey information to associates, supervisors and operations managers in a patient and appropriate manner.

 

Physical Essential Functions:

The Human Resource Coordinator must have physical strength and be able to perform the physical tasks of the position.  This position works in a retail grocery store environment.

·        Ability to sit at computer workstation and/or desk for a full shift.

·        Ability to enter data and look at monitor for extended periods of time.

·        Ability to stand, walk and/or sit for up to two-thirds of a full shift.

·        Ability to perform tasks involving repetitive motion for up to two-thirds of a full shift.

·        Ability to reach above/below shoulder level for up to one-third of a full shift.

·        Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, balance and/or crawl for up to one-third of a full shift.

·        Ability to talk and/or hear for a full shift.

·        Ability to lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds for up to one-third of a full shift.

·        Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.

 

Minimum Position Qualifications: 

High school diploma and six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must demonstrate ability to support and adapt in a culture of change.  Must demonstrate an ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, associates and customers.  Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Must be proficient with business software applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), web browsers and email clients.
