Job Description:
Overall management of Human Resources department
• Key member of management team
• Responsible for Human Resources and Employee Benefits functions for multiple companies with employees in over 40 states
• Administer health and welfare plans including: Medical with Prescription, Dental, Vision, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Group Life Insurance, AD&D, Dependent Life insurance, Voluntary Life Insurance, Worker's Compensation, 401(k) savings plan, EAP
• Comply with COBRA, HIPAA, EEO, FMLA, FLSA, ERISA, ADA, VETS, and other federal, state, or local regulations
• Create and maintain personnel policies and procedures
• Primary representative in negotiating and administering active collective bargaining agreements
• Maintain Affirmative Action Plans
• Coordinate and obtain appropriate work authorizations and visas for applicants needing sponsorship
• Administer electronic timekeeping system
• Facilitate, review, and submit annual reports: 5500, EEO-1, VETS 100, Surveys, and others
• Oversee educational assistance program
• Recruit applicants utilizing online resources, databases, and employee referrals
• Responsible for employee relations including: grievances, benefits questions, disciplinary actions, harassment investigations, and terminations
• Ensure pay and health/welfare plans are in compliance with Service Contract Act (SCA), Union, and non-union employees
• Oversee the new hire and termination processes
• Ensure personnel change of status forms are executed, recorded, and filed
• Ensure HRIS records and personnel files are maintained with accurate information
• Effectively support and communicate with Executives, Directors, and Program Managers
• Help employees with claims concerning benefits or company policies
• Administer section 125 Plan – Health and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts
• Manage and prepare for worker's compensation claims, premiums, and annual audit
• Create, analyze, and distribute various reports using Deltek CostPoint and Cognos Impromptu
• Primary interface with brokers, attorneys, and plan sponsors
***Human Resources Manager may travel to remote locations at a moment’s notice. Usual travel includes 2 to 3 days away from office.
4 year bachelor’s degree in business: prefer focus in management or human resource management
Must have at least 5 years of experience in human resources, with 3 years experience in Government contracting.
Prefer applicants with previous HR Manager or Director experience
Prefer applicants with HRCI credentials such as, PHR or SPHR
