Description: Summary:

The Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager develops, implements, and maintains the HSE management program for a manufacturing facility in accordance with regulatory requirements, company policy, best management practices.

This position serves as the subject matter expert and ensures that all aspects of production operations are compliant with internal and external regulatory requirements, company policy, and best management practices.

The HSE Manager regularly interacts with employees on the plant floor, engages in root cause analysis, leads environmental and safety training efforts, and maintains a vigilance to ensure that our safety record remains world class.

This position will have the opportunity to effectively create and implement strategies that enable the manufacturing, maintenance and distribution operations of the plant to achieve their HSE performance objectives. This role has one direct report: a Health & Safety Specialist. Qualifications: oSupervisory experience.
oProven training and
development experience.
oMinimum of 8 years demonstrated
HSE management experience in a
manufacturing environment.
oExperience implementing OSHA/VPP
program.
oIncident investigation expertise
including root cause analysis.
oComputer proficiency in
Microsoft Word, Excel,
PowerPoint
oProject management and team
facilitation skills
oEffective communication skills
(writing, presentation, data
organization)
oStrong attention to detail
oEffective Communication skills,
both written and verbal,
experience in reporting.
oCommitment to keeping skills and
knowledge up to date
oKnowledge of Louisiana Worker's
Compensation laws (Louisiana and
Federal OSHA laws and
regulations)
oWorking knowledge of Local,
State and Federal environmental
laws and regulations.
oWorking knowledge of
environmental, health and safety
standards (like ANSI, NIOSH,
NFPA,EPA and ISO) and best
management practices
oDemonstrated time management and
organizational skills.

Desired qualifications:

oBS degree in Engineering,
Occupational Safety and Health,
Environmental Management or
closely related field
oCertified Safety Professional or
