We are currently seeking an experienced HR Director that wants to be part of an exciting company that is focused on changing the way Long Term Care is delivered and we need a progressive thinker who wants to make a difference every day in our Skilled Nursing Facility, Rockwood Care & Rehab, located in Rockwood, TN.
Position Summary:
Implements human resources systems including effective staff recruitment and retention, benefits administration, employee relations and human resources management programs, employee communication programs, conflict resolution, training and compliance with applicable State and Federal laws. Mentor department supervisors on human resource related issues and programs. This position will support the needs of approximately 75-100 associates.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Source candidates for available openings through ads, referrals, internal/external job postings, job fairs, State or Federal career centers, outplacement programs, etc.
· Conduct interviews/assessments with candidates to determine suitability for employment.
· Conduct appropriate credentialing including reference checks, abuse registry checks, and certification/licensure checks (if applicable), drug screening and criminal background checks on all potential employees.
· Process facility payroll.
· Prepare offer letters for all candidates and ensures completion of new hire processes [paperwork, nametags, etc].
· Create and maintain accurate and current personnel and confidential files and logs and perform annual audits.
· Ensures timely and accurate benefit enrollment within the 30-day eligibility and during “open-enrollment” periods.
· Coordinate and conduct new hire Orientation.
· May maintain records including attendance and training logs for all in-service education, staff and departmental meetings.
· Coordinate safety program and schedule monthly safety committee meetings and document minutes of the meeting.
· Responsible for reporting incidents all work place injuries and diseases requiring medical attention.
· Participate in conducting accident investigations and implementing corrective action.
· Monitor all Workers’ Compensation claims and maintain open communication with Home Office Risk Management team and outside agencies.
· Advise on corrective action consultations and terminations and serve as a witness.
· Implement and coordinate all employee award programs.
· May facilitate and organize Town Hall meetings.
· Conduct and analyze local annual wage and benefit competitiveness surveys.
· Maintain and submit to the Home Office on a monthly basis the Master Flow Log.
· Ensuring that regulatory compliance, Human Resources Policies, Drug Free Work Place Program, and the Human Resources Procedures Manual are followed.
· Ensure that all employment related regulatory postings are current and visible in the facility.
· Conduct investigations as needed.
· Process unemployment documentation and defend claims.
· Other project and duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent in combination of education and experience.
· Minimum of two years of experience in a human resources management; long term care experience preferred.
· PHR/SPHR Certification or commitment to obtain in 1st year of employment.
· Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
· Intermediate to advance skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Internet Navigation.
