Human Resources Business Consultant - DeliveryThis position will be located at the Georgia Power Company Headquarters 241Ralph McGill Blvd., Atlanta, GA  Summary of Position Duties: The HR Business Consultant acts as an internal management consultant supporting Southern Company Services and Georgia Power.  This includes providing timely and cost-effective human resource services to client groups to support and ensure successful implementation of the organization’s initiatives.   Job Responsibilities:Ensure successful implementation and delivery of Human Resource’s products and services to a client group. Ensure that Human Resource’s strategic and tactical initiatives are effectively executed. Consult with management of client organizations on Human Resources issues. Maintain a work environment that emphasizes professional excellence, teamwork, customer satisfaction, and personal growth. Ensure the transfer of skills in HR processes to line management. Provide a high level of customer service that is cost effective and value added. Education & Work Experience:Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Graduate degree a plus. PHR/SPHR certification a plus. Consulting experience in performance management, leadership development, succession & development planning, compensation, employee relations, workforce planning & strategic staffing, project management, organizational effectiveness principles, metrics, and organizational change.  Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Demonstrated technical knowledge of Human Resources is required. (Employee Relations, Compensation, Disability Management, Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, Organizational Design, & Compliance.) Must possess knowledge of HR policies and practices and understand their application in solving client needs. Must have well-developed oral and written communication skills. Ability to diplomatically offer objective and creative solutions to client issues. Ability to respect and maintain confidential and sensitive information. Ability to champion and influence change and a willingness to take risks. Ability to build effective client relationships, adapting approach/style to the client’s needs. Champion HR initiatives with client groups. Outstanding communication and facilitation skills:  listening, oral, written, and presentation. A high level of personal initiative and responsibility. A flexible and adaptable approach to consulting services. Ability to understand and provide guidance regarding the company’s compliance efforts with respect to human resource’s practices, policies, and regulatory requirements.
