This position is accountable for establishing partnerships with hospitals through account management activities. These activities include the coordination of all administrative and service activities that impact the designated hospitals in the assigned territory; establishing and enhancing collaborative partnerships with large hospital/health care systems; proactively identifying and initiating resolution of critical issues including claim payment issues; coordinating joint quality, utilization management and public health initiatives; and consulting with key hospital/health care systems. Requirements include Bachelors Degree, minimum of 6 years health insurance experience; minimum of 4 years experience in hospital/provider contracting, negotiating, and relationship management; strong knowledge of health care delivery systems, hospital reimbursement principles and practices, hospital negotiation strategies, and knowledge of Medicaid contracting, excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal relationship, negotiation and financial analysis skills.
