Job Purpose

From answering simple technical questions to engineering technologically cutting edge lifestyle solutions, our Home Theater Designers make Electronics Expo the ultimate Home Theatre destination.  Home Theater Designers oversee all custom audio/video sales within a store with a special emphasis being placed on the development of custom home theatre solutions and project management of custom sales from start to finish.   Audio Home Theater Designers provide knowledge and experience necessary to complete custom home theatre sales.

 

Responsibilities:

- Generate/Process Site Survey Requests, setting up appointments for in-home consultations on client  projects.

- Perform Site Surveys at customer’s homes, developing a scope of work to be completed

- Engineer complete system designs in terms of audio, video, architecture, control, etc.

- Generate formal proposals to be reviewed with client in store upon completion of system design

- Closing custom installation sales at customer’s home or in store.

- Serve in project manager role from start to completion of project.

- Source and assist in procuring products and materials for custom projects

- Communicate with client(s) regarding current or ongoing projects (providing follow-up)

- Entering invoices and work orders for work generated from proposals and sales

- Meeting sales goals and tracking sales.

- Work with Buyers/Store Managers to increase margins with accessories, extended warranties, audio sales, etc.

- Carrying out merchandising of new product and reducing older inventory

- Train sales counselors on new products/procedures with weekly meetings at store. 

- Motivate team members with sales incentives and goals

- Detailing of audio/video areas including routine maintenance, cleaning, tags, etc.

- Attending regular (3-5 times per week) project management meetings

- Attend weekly updates/meetings with General Manager/Project Manager at store or in office with updates on the week’s activities.

- Attend monthly meeting with all HT Specialists in main office to share ideas and implement new procedures, merchandising, etc

- Attend vendor sponsored trainings/meetings either in store(s) or offsite

 

 Required Skills/Qualifications

- Custom installation experience (sales and/or installation)

- Experience in engineering large custom audio/video projects

- Audio sales experience

- Systems integration experience

- Detail oriented

- Posses excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, planning, prioritization and organizational skills coupled with problem resolution capabilities.

- Energetic and upbeat
- A self starter who can work independently and be a member of a cohesive team.

- Have positive attitude and aptitude

- Be computer literate

- Able to quickly get up to speed on our internal systems

- Must be able to work a variety of shifts including nights and weekends

 

Optional Skills/Qualifications

- Have experience with MS Office, MS Excel, MS Outlook

- Consumer electronics sales experience

- Commissioned sales experience

- An Associate’s degree

- Retail management experience

- Outside sales experience

- Control4 Experience
