The purpose of the laboratory is to provide laboratory results and information used for diagnosis and treatment.  The Histotechnologist is responsible for the preparation, processing and maintaining records of histologic specimens.  Key processes include:  specimen collection, testing and information distribution.  The Histotechnologist performs technical laboratory procedures independently, accurately and timely to aid in patient diagnosis and laboratory operations. Performs preventative and corrective maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Requirements:  High school diploma or equivalent required. Histology experience preferred. Licensure/certification HT (ASCP).
