Responsibilities and Duties:
This position will reside in the Technical Craft Development Unit of the Human Resources Department and will provide Heavy Industrial Equipment training for Colorado Springs Utilities.
We are interested in someone who has:
Strong customer service skills and can function in a direct customer contact support role; Developing and/or modifying Heavy Industrial Equipment training; Provide professional support and analytical functions in the areas of document management for training programs; Ensure a consistent, defensible, and corporate wide training program; Leverage existing business relationships with local industrial equipment providers and the City of Colorado Springs; Provide professional training consultant services and resolve employee performance issue; Address E-Learning issues between field personnel and instructional design; Coach and Assist in development of internal SMEs; Provide customer solutions that include workflow redesign; Ensuring all 1000 Commercial License holders possess DOT required 8 hour training course and assessment; Ensure all 360 Commercial Drivers License holders possess required 40 hour training.Required Skills, Knowledge and Competencies:
Skills and Knowledge
Training operation and maintenance of Industrial Equipment; Project management; Operational understanding of boring machine, snow cat, snow mobile, ATV, CDL rated truck, dump truck, tractor trailer, wire tension equipment, wire pulling equipment, large material trailers, Fork lifts, insulated bucket trucks, digging truck, etc...; 5 years experience maintaining industrial equipment; 2 years Professional Field Training Experience; 5 years general heavy equipment operation not limited to: Class I - class II back hoe Class I - class II front end loaders Grade scrapers Skid loader Mobile Cranes Digger derricks - truck mounted cranes 5-15 ton tandem dump truck 5 - 15 ton tractor trailer Understanding of broad range of Industrial Equipment application in Utilities Business; Understanding of OSHA, ANSI, NIOSH and CFR standards as they apply to Industrial Equipment and Utilities application; Understanding of Advanced Rigging design for Multiple Utilities Applications; Good working relationship with internal customers General Utilities experience.Competencies

Most people in this occupation would have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Education, Instructional Systems Design, Instructional Technology, Communication, or a closely related field and/or four to six years of relevant and transferable experience in a development environment; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate would have four or more year’s experience in planning, designing, developing, implementing, evaluating, and coordinating training programs for adult learners. Utility experience is highly desirable. Incumbent must have and maintain a valid CDL upon hire. AA/EOE
