Description
The Sales Representative is responsible for meeting goals for
hospice admissions in a specific territory through implementation of the VistaCare sales/marketing strategy and process.
Principal Accountabilities1. Meets specific admission and referral goals each month by strategically
promoting VistaCare to and calling on referral sources such as hospitals,
physicians, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, community and religious
organizations and those with previous contact with VistaCare.
2. Works with Executive Director to jointly develop preferred account relationships.
3. Identifies, develops and maintains other key referral sources in the medical and broader community to their fullest potential.
4. Tracks referrals to ensure maximum conversion of referrals to admissions.
5. Works to increase direct consumer awareness of hospice through educational opportunities and community events.
6. Works jointly with Executive Director and marketing team to develop, implement and maintain the annual marketing plan.
7. Maintains account information and status, and reports progress using VistaCare sales tracking tools.
8. Coordinates with facility billing representatives to ensure smooth and timely
billing and reimbursement.
9. Participates in the sign-on process as assigned.
10. Establishes ongoing communication with referral sources regarding the status of mutual patients.
11. Collaborates with area, regional and national sales/marketing team on an ongoing basis.
12. Supports the contracting efforts of the regional team, Executive Director and Sales Representatives.
13. Gives professional presentations using PowerPoint and VistaCare standard
segment presentations.
14. Works with Executive Director to educate all program staff about their marketing role: everything is marketing and everyone is in marketing.
15. Ensures compliance to corporate identity and admissions access standards.
16. Has a duty to detect, when reasonable, and report any potential misconduct or violation of VistaCare Standards of Conduct or federal or state laws and regulations.
17. Has a responsibility to participate in staff training and education programs and to ensure appropriate training of supervised staff.
18. Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications 1. Two (2) years experience in sales/marketing and referral development; health care facility or medical related sales experience highly desirable.
2. Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or communications preferred, or a
combination of education and experience.
3. Demonstrated superior sales, communication and customer service skills.
4. Positive, “can do” attitude.
5. Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Internet and e-mail.
6. Reliable transportation, current driver’s license and current auto insurance.
