As stewards of the Regence Data Warehouse, the Healthcare Informatics division supports Underwriting, Actuarial, Provider and Member Services - as well as other divisions - with advanced analytical tools, methods, and services to help lead, manage, and facilitate fact-based decision-making. Healthcare Informatics' positive influence is felt throughout Regence and within the healthcare community.
Healthcare Informatics Analysts are highly analytical and data-driven contributors to the customers they serve, and to the Regence mission. As their career progresses, an analyst is expected to develop a rich expertise in the content and functionality of the various information systems that are relevant to their area of responsibility.
Commensurate with their experience and expertise, analyst and senior analyst responsibilities will range from basic support to project management and leadership of Regence strategic and operational initiatives. Most analysts have a deep expertise with the clinical or financial systems that drive our insurance operations.
This position will help support internal and external customers make informed decisions through the application of advanced analytic tools and methods.
A highly qualified candidate will be innovative in an ambiguous environment with the following skills:Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
An interest in healthcare and the passion to make a difference
Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Public Health, Hospital Administration or an equivalent related field. Masters degree highly desirable.
Advanced knowledge of program evaluation concepts and methodologies
Strong data mining skills (advanced spreadsheet knowledge required, familiarity with SAS, SQL and OLAP highly desirable)
Proven ability to perform difficult analytical tasks with minimal supervision
Demonstrated success applying project management skills and concepts to analytic tasks
Ability to work independently on complex projects and issues with large financial and/or risk impact to the corporation
