Covidien (formerly Tyco Healthcare/Mallinckrodt) has an opening for a Paramedic at their St. Louis, MO facility. The Paramedic will be responsible for advanced medical support of all aspects of plant wide potent compound production as well as assisting with patient care functions in the Medical Department. Typical Responsiblities include: - Provide medical support at the ACLS level for those areas involved in potent compound production including laboratory areas. - Assist with daily activities in the Medical Department such as medical monitoring and care for work-related injuries. - Shift work is required and some overtime may also be required. - Daily maintenance of emergency equipment in all potent compound areas. - Assist in teaching First Responder classes. - Work with minimal supervision. - Other responsibilities as needed or indicated to include Emergency Response Team, Confined Space Rescue, Incident Command Responsibilities/Medical officer, and Decontamination. Requirements: Background Preferred: - Completion of Paramedic course and certification as a Paramedic in in the State of Missouri - Minimum of five years experience in Emergency Care and recent experience in advanced emergency situations - Current license as a Paramedic level EMT in the State of Missouri - Current ACLS certification - Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) - Exceptional interpersonal skills and willingness to work in a team environment - Work as a team member in a fast paced environment - Minimum of one year's teaching experience in emergency medicine - Flexibility to accept new duties as assigned Covidien is an Equal Opportunity Employer - M/F/D/V.
