JOB SUMMARY Supervise the daily implementation of all HACCP, SSOP and prerequisite program monitoring, record reviews, calibrations and verifications to ensure programs are executed and document correctly, completely and accurately. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ' Assure corrective actions resulting from internal food safety programs (HACCP, SSOP) & external food safety concerns (customer, consumer complaints) are completed and executed in a timely manner. ' Evaluate product on hold, maintain the hold log, and document disposition of product. ' Trending reports for HACCP and SSOP's. ' Coordinate with the plant's audit program, perform GMP, HACCP and plant audits and work closely with the Quality Manager. ' Coordinate the fundamentals of SSOP, GMP and HACCP programs ' Provide initial and ongoing training to QA and Production employees charged with monitoring, verification and documentation tasks associated with all HACCP, SSOP and prerequisite programs. ' Maintain HACCP program, and record keeping Observe and ensure adherence of SOPs . ' Act as Chairperson of plant HACCP/SSOP Committees, conducting periodic meetings to ensure HACCP/SSOP programs are current and have accounted for all changes in processes, equipment, and line configuration. ' Assure proper filing, storage and maintenance of factory records pertaining to HACCP, SSOP, GMP, and Processing ' Work with Production staff to implement improvements to production techniques ' Manage Noncompliance Records (NRs). ' Work effectively and openly with the Regulatory Compliance Group Manager to provide timely updates on status of RNs received, microbiological monitoring test results, local regulatory concerns. ' Oversee Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures Documentation. ' Factory label maintenance ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: ' Assist the Quality Assurance Manager ' Conduct HACCP and GMP's training ' New Hire Orientation, Annual Refresher Training ' Increase food safety awareness among employees by leading and participating in factory training and operations meetings ' Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: ' Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information to customers, clients and other employees of the organization ' Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations, and must be analytical. ' Communication and decision making skills are required. ' Ability to work with computer programs such as MS Office and MS Visio ' Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Thorough working knowledge of USDA food safety regulations (pertaining to HACCP/SSOP/Labeling/ Nutrition/etc.) and auditing preferred. PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: ' Frequently required to stand and walk, occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. ' Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. ' The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, hearing protection is required. ' Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. ' Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: ' BS Degree in Food Science or related field preferred ' HACCP Certification is required. ' 2 or more years of HACCP experience in a Frozen Food and/or Processed Meats Environment. RESPOND HERE!
