Teacher Skills/Qualifications

• Confident, pleasant singing voice

• Love of singing, music making and teaching

• Ability to comfortably interact with parents and children

• Experience working with young children a plus

• Playful, energetic teaching style. Extremely outgoing, optimistic and “bubbly.”

• Retail selling experience a real plus (comfortable with selling memberships)

• Excellent memory (to memorize songs and lesson plans)

• Theater or acting experience helpful

JOB DESCRIPTION

Gymboree teachers facilitate high-energy parent-child educational play classes, arts, music classes and birthday parties in our state-of-the-art facility using lesson plans provided by Gymboree.

You must be a happy person who likes to sing, lead parenting discussions, educate, multi-task and engage children by crawling, climbing, sliding and singing with them (and encouraging their parents to do so as well).

And when you teach art you must like to get messy!

Life experience, dependability and personality count more than previous work experience. Teachers also have opportunities for participating in marketing and public relations events.

We are continually expanding and currently hiring for one of the largest and most successful Gymboree’s in America in Vernon Hills, Illinois at Hawthorn Mall. Shift times will vary. Full, part-time, and substitute positions available. We will tailor shifts for most positions to your availability.

At Gymboree, we take a playful and active approach to learning.
