Job Purpose
This is a key role within the ISPG business partnering team supporting the Global Technology & Operations (GTO) division, which manages the global infrastructure requirements of the AstraZeneca organisation. The person will be working closely with the Senior Finance Business Partner in providing quality financial analysis; forecasts and customer support, as well as developing better global finance processes for the GTO organisation.

Key Accountabilities
To support the month-end process for GTO, run to tight timescales
a. Responsible for producing the US – GTO results and variance analysis from SAP
b. To ensure accounting processes and procedures applied adhere to group accounting policies
c. To provide results to the UK for global consolidation and to the US central reporting teams on time and to a high quality
d. Feeding back to customers on financial performance and driving corrective actions if required

To support the GTO budget and forecasting processes
a. Working with Service Mangers and Project Managers in developing spend predictions
b. Loading data into SAP forecasting systems to enable tracking
c. Challenging budget holders on forecasts in a positive manner to drive business value
d. Explaining clearly movements between previous forecasts
e. Ownership of the CAPEX process

Local Management of staff / contractors to ensure excellent delivery standards and promote good team working

Pro-actively working with local managers to identify finance issues and opportunities and having the communication skills and confidence to effectively influence and challenge decisions.

To manage and co-ordinate the US finance part of the outsource contract with IBM, ensuring that invoicing is correct and processed in a timely fashion; customers are aware of the pricing structures and commercial mechanisms in the contract and also to support customers when forecasting future demand on the contract.

To support the creation and financial management of investment business cases, providing guidance to customers on costs and potential savings targets.

Help to identify key risks financial and non-financial on projects ensuring these are being managed and reported appropriately

Supporting the Business Partner in driving through harmonisation of processes and cost structures at a GTO global level to improve reporting efficiency and consistency. Also being an active member of the ISPG team.

To work with the business to ensure that appropriate levels of financial control exist that comply with regulatory requirements and provide regular quality reporting as appropriate

Responsibilities

Key skills/ experience
Essential
o 7 years pharma experience
o 10 years accounting finance
o Bachelors degree
o Qualified Accountant - CPA
o Excellent PC skills: Excel; PowerPoint [SAP / Oracle experience useful]
o Proven financial and management accounting experience.
