GES Exposition Services, a leading tradeshow and event marketing company, is seeking a high-energy, growth-oriented professional with demonstrated leadership abilities, integrity and passion for hassle-free service for the position of Graphics Technician at our Las Vegas, NV facility.   Responsibilities: Operates and maintains computer-aided sign making equipment, software programs and color printers Perform layout, and production functions using desktop publishing software on the computer (current workload dictates 90% pure computer production, 10% actual creative design) Able to work in the production area of the department to facilitate the finishing of graphic signage, i.e., vinyl production, mounting and trimming of digital prints Facilitates and maintains the use of computer ID sign equipment Assists in answering computer graphics software questions or production issues as requested by GES clients Operates a Macintosh operating system, PC operating system, Windows NT and with proficiency in software programs: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia FreeHand, Quark Express, and various other operating utilities Operates all Graphics Department printing equipment, including Inkjet and desktop printers Work with Equipment Technician to calibrate files to output. Performs other duties as assigned and deemed necessary of the position under the direction of the Graphics Department Manager, Production Supervisor, Shift Supervisor, or Lead Person
Education/Experience:  Two (2) years experience in Graphics production, including one (1) year computer design experience or equivalent combination thereof as shown in a portfolio Mandatory experience (two years) using Adobe Illustrator High School diploma; prefer two (2) years college Computer knowledge and experience in PC and Macintosh platforms including Microsoft Office products Applicants will be subject to a written and application examination regarding computer competency
Skills/Competencies Demonstrated proficiency with verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to use various measuring tools and mathematical proficiency (fractions, decimals) Demonstrated excellent customer service skills   
Special Considerations: No relocation assistance available Hourly position Flexibility with work schedule (required to change shifts and work days as business needs dictate) Flexibility with work hours (must be able to work overtime as business needs dictate) Ability to work under pressure Shop environment
