POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES
Reporting to the Provost at The City College of New York (CCNY) and working closely with the Grants Management Office, the Grant Writer will perform the following duties:
• Develop grant proposals to foundations and corporations. Write and edit proposals, including budgets and all related materials and review for accuracy before final submission.
• Assist science and engineering faculty in writing research grant proposals and reports.
• Establish and maintain realistic timelines for proposal submission.
• Research and identify grant opportunities that support CCNY science and engineering programs and initiatives by using various databases and publications, and match institutional and program goals and priorities with grant opportunities.
• Coordinate development of interdepartmental proposals.
• Ensure proposals and grant reports are submitted on time and maintain the highest quality.
• Disseminate information about potential federal, state and private funding opportunities relevant to fundraising priorities to appropriate individuals and programs.
• Track grant prospects and submissions, prepare quarterly progress reports for the Dean of Science and the Dean of Engineering.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree and at least four years of related experience with grant writing, submission and proposals required. Formal training in grant/proposal writing is desirable.
Master's degree may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience.
