Description of Duties/Responsibilities:

Bayer’s Information Systems team currently has a career opportunity at either our Fairfield, NJ or our Wayne, NJ site. As a member of the Bayer Information Systems team you will be responsible for providing necessary support, maintenance and development responsibilities for Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceutical Division, focusing on reporting and contracting systems. Additional responsibilities include supporting government reporting requirements and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The incumbent will provide technical and administrative report status on plans, budgets, schedules, and will independently conceive, plan, and conduct investigations, which will have significant influence on technological developments. You will develop plans and criteria for a variety of projects; review results and advise, and influence business units’ decisions. Also, you will be responsible for development, maintenance and the vitality of essential Bayer processes.

Bayer Required Qualifications:

VS1.1: Bachelors Degree in Information Systems or related field plus 8 years current IT experience, OR Masters Degree plus 6 years current information technology experience, OR 8+ years current Information Technology experience.
* Must have experience with supporting, maintaining and developing Pharmaceutical contracting and government reporting IT systems (Experience with Cars/IS preferred although not required);
* Must have 3 - 5 years current, language expertise with Visual Basic 6.x, Microstrategy, and Oracle RDBMS;
* Must have 5+ years current development experience with PL/SQL, SQL, and SQL*Loader knowledge
* Must have ETL development experience
* Must have experience working in the Pharmaceutical Industry;
* Must have the ability to work under sometimes stressful government mandated deadlines;
* Must be able to perform problem analysis, provide regular status updates to leadership, and work professionally with internal and external contacts at a very detailed level;
* Must exercise a defined degree of discretion, satisfactorily handle conflict situations, and assume leadership role in non-complex team projects and activities; and
* Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate concepts and ideas related to assigned projects and customer support.
