The UPMC Health Plan is seeking a government programs specialist for our downtown Pittsburgh location. The government programs specialist provides leadership and direction to the pharmacy services government program operations, strategy, and compliance activities. This individual maintains direct accountability for reporting, compliance, financial analysis, and planning and coordination of efforts with other departments to assure effective operations of the pharmacy department. The government programs specialist supports all other pharmacy needs for other Health Plan functional departments associated with government oversight. Requirements include a bachelor's degree in health care administration, hospital administration, business, public health, or a closely-related field (a master's degree in one of the aforementioned disciplines is strongly preferred), three years of experience in managed care plans (experience in Pennsylvania programs strongly preferred), and two years of experience in Medicare. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) as well as above average analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
