This position is based in Mountain View, CA.The Role: Renewable Energy Program ManagerThe Program Managers role will be to identify green energy sourcing options, including renewable energy projects, power purchase agreements, power swaps, and other options that will enable Google to make its energy supply greener, and to work closely with other team members to develop projects and negotiate contracts. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated top performance in an analytical and program management role, will have graduated at or near the top of his/her class at a leading academic institution, will have an excellent business sense, will have experience with renewable-energy projects, and will have a strong high-level interest in technology including existing and emerging renewable-energy technologies. We are looking for self-starters who can work in a rapidly evolving industry, think outside the box, and work independently with limited guidance. We are looking for both junior and senior candidates; responsibilities will be commensurate with abilities and experience.
Responsibilities will include some or all of the following depending on the
candidate and the needs of the team at the time:
Provide the research and analytic horsepower to identify green energy options.
Gather information needed to make business decisions via the web, analyst
reports, legal documentation, meetings with vendors and researchers, etc.
Develop and manage relationships with potential vendors.
Develop and manage renewable energy projects and contracts.
Analyze and synthesize findings; contribute to the development of
recommendations and help communicate results to business group leadership.
Manage discrete pieces of the problem independently. Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering or other technical field, preferably from a leading institution.
Experience in energy procurement and/or energy project development.
Experience in a financial or business analyst role a significant plus.
Technical experience related to power generation and energy resources a significant plus.
Distinctive problem-solving and analysis skills coupled with demonstrated business acumen.
Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly organized; time management and attention to detail a must.
