Manufacturing Test Engineer - Mountain ViewThis position is based in Mountain View, CA. The Area: Operations & IT Google requires a world class supply chain to deliver the computer and networking equipment for its ever-expanding global data centers. Our team is made up of engineers and supply chain professionals who design, build and manage that supply chain. The focus is not just on cost and delivery but how to best manufacture Google's confidential and proprietary internal computer hardware.
The Role: Manufacturing Test Engineer - Mountain View The Google Enterprise Manufacturing team has an immediate need for an experienced test engineer to work closely with our internal and external
partners to ensure reliability and high field quality for our new and existing appliance platforms. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is results focused and thrives in a challenging start-up environment.
Responsibilities:
Set up and manage Reliability Demonstration Testing. For new products, demonstrate system reliability using temperature, power cycling, etc. to demonstrate X yrs of reliability. This will be used to predict product readiness and field reliability. Monitor and report SW issues and work through resolution with the broader SW engineering team.
Set up and manage Ongoing Reliability Testing. Cycle production units through an ORT process to identify potential reliability changes due to SW, design and/process changes in manufacturing.
Interface with our OEM partners. Influence internal test processes, monitor and report yields, review and influence mfg processes, understand transformation cost structure.
Set up and oversee Googles Production Verification Testing. Manage the execution of Googles internal EVT & PVT testing cycles, identify key owners for each step of the testing process and program manage the schedule - kickoff through post-release review. Manage procurement of hardware to support both EVT and PVT cycles, conduct post-PVT assessments, define and implement fixes for subsequent testing cycles.
ECO and component qualification - Work with SW/HW engineering and our external partners to manage change orders from design through fulfillment, work with engineering and our extended supply chain to influence and validate component qualification processes. Qualifications: BS in EE, CS or equivalent
Experience in writing test plans, developing automated test scripts for functional and reliability testing.
Recent 5+ years manufacturing test development experience in the x86 server and telecommunications industry.
Supply chain program management experience a strong plus
Strong communication and influencing skills
Some knowledge of disk drive interfaces
