These family-focused centers integrate play-based philosophies into the curriculum, such as Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE), Program for Infant/Toddler Care (PITC), and the Reggio Emilia Approach. This program includes primary care-giving, small group size and staff continuity, and is designed to meet the physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs of children ages 3 months through 5 years.
The roles: Preschool and Infant/Toddler TeachersOur high-quality, family-focused centers offer an integrated approach to infant, toddler, and preschool early care and education inspired by research-based practices and play-based philosophies. Classrooms maintain low group sizes with good teacher-to-child ratios. Preschool and Infant/Toddler Teachers provide children with individualized care, a nurturing environment and uninterrupted time for play and exploration. Teachers work collaboratively in teaching teams for each classroom.
Responsibilities: Provide responsive, relationship-based care and create a stimulating environment for children.
Develop creative and age appropriate activities based on child's interests.
Create a nurturing environment for play and exploration for children.
Build and nurture partnerships with parents, including parent communication and involvement.
Work in a collaborative relationship with other staff in classroom and with management team.
Qualifications: BA or BS degree in early childhood education or related field (units must include 3 units of child development).
California Master Teacher Child Development Permit or eligibility for permit.
At least 5 years of teaching experience with children ages 3 months to 3 years for Infant/Toddler Teachers III, and with children 3 years to 5 years old for Preschool Teachers III.
