Cost Accounting Manager - Mountain ViewThis position is based in Mountain View, CA.The area: Accounting and ControlsConsisting of experienced, motivated, creative, self-sufficient and savvy high performers in the finance and accounting fields, our team handles the core accounting roles at Google. We have a preference for those who like to work and play hard and who are enthused about working on collaborative global teams while performing M&A, external reporting and internal audit functions.
The role: Cost Accounting ManagerFor this position, we are looking for a well-rounded top performer who can be a key contributor in a high-energy growth environment. The ideal candidate is one who has been a top academic performer with a proven track record in global, high tech companies and who has the desire to excel in everything they do. Your work history should demonstrate job stability with increasing levels of responsibility.
Responsibilities: Provide technical guidance to our peers in international subsidiaries with respect to industry practice on cost accounting and inventory management.
Manage the full cycle of inventory process including update and maintenance of standard costing, variance analysis and allocation, impact analysis of product design and manufacturing methods on costs and cost reporting, excess and obsolete; supervise annual physical inventory counts, and design cycle count program.
Drive productivity improvement initiatives, provide cost accounting and modeling support to planning, budgeting, and forecasting efforts, participate in analyzing and evaluating new product/product change ideas, and educate Operations on financial impact of their activities.
Manage monthly closing, review accounting entries, and work with consolidating team for inter-company assets transfer, and prepare monthly close presentation to finance executives.
Work with SOX auditors to refine the business process, and ensure SOX compliance, and provide quarterly inventory and product cost analysis to external auditors and answer questions that arise. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance with proven academic excellence.
MBA, or CPA or CMA (or requirements met for certification) preferred.
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in cost accounting and management roles for multi-national operational manufacturing environment.
Strong MRP/ERP system skills, Oracle Inventory experience is a plus.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Superb ability to identify, analyze, and resolve accounting and system issues.
