Essential Responsibilities:

·        Assists the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis in the development of various strategic business plans for both the Editorial Departments & overall organizations.

·         Keeps a detailed record of all future titles for the purposes of budgeting, including editorial profitability forecasts and author contracts.

·        Assists editorial staff where necessary in developing accurate profitability forecasts for projects at the point of acquisition.

·        Prepares post-publication Profit & Loss statements on published titles and communicates results to the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis.

·        Assists the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis in generating & maintaining various reports and analysis of all departments, including sales & marketing.

·        Provides the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis with database support to query financial, sales and operational data from various internal systems.

·        Provides support on all ad hoc related requests.

Position Qualifications:

·        4 year college degree in Business/Finance, or equivalent work experience required.

·        Minimum one to two year related work experience within Finance, or equivalent internships.

·        Exceptional skills in Microsoft Excel required. Knowledge of Microsoft Access, other database software and QuickBooks accounting software a plus.

·        Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills are required.

·        Must possess a strong penchant for numbers with strong attention to detail.

·        Must be enthusiastic & willing to learn.
