We have an immediate opening for an experienced full-time GIFT BUYER to join our store support team.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Develop exciting and balanced product assortments in assigned categories.  Analyze and negotiate with vendors in order to achieve best price, delivery, and quality of product.  Sourcing may include custom product development, importing, and domestic and international vendor base.  Travel to appropriate trade shows, vendor factories, and stores as required.  Oversee and direct an Assistant Buyer that will be responsible for inventory management.  Assistant Buyer responsibilities include product re-orders, new order generation, merchandise delivery & flow, transfers and markdowns. Train, motivate and develop Assistant Buyer to ensure effective performance and growth through consistent on-the-job training. Develop and maintain close relationship with store personnel, venues, and vendors.

 

Qualifications and skills:

 

Bachelor’s degree and minimum five years of experience as a merchandise buyer in gift or related fields. 

 

Working knowledge of MS Excel/Word/Outlook skills and some POS system experience.

 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

 

Candidate needs to be action and results oriented, flexible, self starting, multi-task oriented, and decisive.
