Originally organized in 1929 as a local natural gas distribution company in Arkansas, today the Company is involved in the following activities: Natural Gas and Crude Oil Exploration and Production, Midstream Services, and Natural Gas Distribution.

 

Geoscience Technician- Houston, TX- 68851

 

Summary:

This candidate’s tasks tend to be weighted toward data gathering, operations database management, and geoscience software applications. The candidate will work with an integrated team of geologists and geophysicists in an active program. The candidate will work with Petra databases and associated geoscience applications.

 

Responsibilities:

Database management, storage and retrievalMap creation, geo-referencing, and data gridding and contouring Data loading, formatting, and transfer across systems.Documentation and digital archiving.Interacting with geoscience and engineering personnel to complete specifically assigned projects.Independently monitor and prepare periodic reports.Performing data analysis and interpretation

 

Required Skills:

Legally authorized to work in the United States High School Diploma/GED Three years experience as a geological technician.Two years of experience with Petra, Openworks, Geographix, Zmap, GIS, or similar programsTwo years of direct experience in Excel, Microsoft Access and other database applicationsCurrent employment in the petroleum industryExcellent communication and teamwork skillsAbility to multi-taskAbility to anticipate, plan and coordinate the workloadFlexible, as project priorities and scope change
