Our University of Pennsylvania bookstore is searching for a General Merchandise Buyer. In this role you will maintain accurate inventory levels, purchasing and sales records. You will order merchandise from vendors and manage merchandise selection. You will coordinate the ordering, maintenance and delivery activity for vendors. Ensuring accurate and effective visual merchandising is essential in this position. You will provide necessary analysis in order to support the core assortment planning process. Using the Company Assortment Plan you will allocate quantities based on past history and current trends.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree plus three plus years of buying experience. Experience with forecasting and identifying industry trends is required. Supervisory experience within a retail environment is a plus. Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as, strong analytical skills are required.
