Your tasksThe WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group, a division of Random House, Inc., seeks a General Market Sales Manager to maximize opportunities for division's titles in the ABA marketplace by working in close concert with, and in support of, ABA sales group.
Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Coordinating with ABA trade reps who cover national accounts, mass merch and independents to maximize overall sales, minimize returns, position both frontlist and backlist and provide overall title knowledge and support.
Develop and help implement effective promotion plans and ideas for frontlist and backlist titles in accounts.
Track planned coop expenditures for budget management, help evaluate and advise on effectiveness of coop plans, review outcomes; advise on value of incremental title merch and track all title merch offers and outcomes.
Prepare for and participate in home launch, New York launch, CBA conference, periodic title reviews with New York, special markets sales conference, ICRS, and CBE as these relate to WBP/MLT titles and ABA channel sales. Potentially participate in presales and ABA sales conference. Prepare materials as appropriate for each meeting, independently or with other departments including TI sheets, slides, mounted covers, sales kits, sales analysis etc.
Consult on presentation and sales materials created by other departments for ABA market.
Track and analyze sales using STAR and OTIS. Weekly regarding distribution and POS, monthly as informs printing decisions, and as needed for fuller understanding of title opportunities in the marketplace, trend analysis.
Represent ABA sales in weekly marketing meeting, including sales patterns on individual books, sell in efforts and results, promotion plans
Overall support of VP/AP with regard to ABA sales channel
Our requirementsEssential Abilities and Functions:
Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel
Interest and comfort in developing skills in SAP and STAR.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
Creativity with regard to selling opportunities, angles on the books, promotion possibilities
Interest in the ABA marketplace
Savvy in managing interdepartmental relationships
Experience and Education (minimum requirements):
College degree or work experience equivalent
3-5 years experience in publishing
