GED and Pre-GED English Language Arts Teacher
United South End Settlements is seeking a Language Arts Teacher for a full-time position with health insurance, vacation, sick pay, and other generous benefits. Join a well-established Adult Basic Education program team in a light-filled environment, including state-of-the-art computer lab. 35 hours weekly, four days (Mon-Thurs) and two evenings (Tues & Thurs) per week, at a convenient T stop location on Orange Line and bus routes. Applicants must have bachelor's degree and previous ELA teaching experience, preferably with adults and in a DESE-funded program. Experience with Wilson or Orton-Gillingham a plus.
Qualifications:
BA/BS, teaching experience required, curriculum development, and computer skills. Strong English, reading, and writing skills necessary. Familiarity with MA curriculum frameworks. Experience with and desire to work with multicultural adults. Positive attitude, patience and sense of humor highly desired. Experience with achievement and outcome-oriented education.
