Job Summary:

The IS Functional Architect - Finance works under the guidance of the IS Director and is responsible for organizing and conducting detailed management analytical studies to define business problems, identify deficiencies and arriving at solutions that impact the company’s effectiveness and provide a basis for management decision making.  The focus for this particular individual will be: to provide on-going support for the PeopleSoft Enterprise financial modules.  This includes Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Accounts Payable, Enterprise Asset Management, and General Ledger.

 

Essential Functions:

 

·        Ensures functional integration of all applications supporting the Finance and Accounting areas

·        Establishes long-term evolution of the overall application solution and other packages integrated with it.

·        Working with the business, establishes annual business process improvement targets enabled by IS technology

·        Identifies and implements point solutions when required.

·        Ensures reliability and accuracy of data within their functional area.

·        Enhances business expertise within their area by maintaining good communication via regular meetings with business counterparts to determine strategic path forward for application to meet business needs.

·        Makes decisions on the implementation of new releases or new functionality to support their area.

·        Maintains ‘What’s new’ documentation (documentation usually provided by software vendors describing differences between new and previous versions).

·        Ensures adherence to Change Control Management policies and procedures.

·        Maintains vendor relationship and support as well as evaluates new vendor releases.

·        Participate in the implementation of new vendor releases or software patches.

·        Reside in the business but possibly be assigned full time to a project.

·        Enhances their understanding of the functionality of the application via receipt and delivery of training.

 

 Job Qualifications:

 

·        Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Management Information Systems required.

·        5 to 10 years of experience in systems and/or accounting

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·        Capable of setting own directions and operating under minimal supervision - Leadership

·        Strong analytical/problem solving skills

·        Must be able to exercise discretion and independent judgment

·        The position is located in our office in Vancouver, WA and might require minimum travel to our northern California plants
