JOB SUMMARY Responsible for providing assistance in the direction and leadership to the systems and technical operations departments while maintaining system integrity and operations of construction, dispatch, installations, service maintenance, warehousing, engineering for existing system, purchasing, budgeting, deployment of new products, and assisting with capital projects. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION Contribute to the Company vision of being the industry leader in customer service through quality, commitment, courtesy and teamwork Provide technical support and direction to field locations regarding new or existing technologies, operational standards, and staff development; and provide technical support to the regional office as needed Coordinate preparation of the capital and operating budget process and monitor activity throughout the year to ensure capital and operating expenses are controlled according to the budgeted plan to meet or exceed annual cash flow, including negotiating with contractors and vendors to achieve bids within budget Monitor current procedures and tests performed in accordance with FCC standards to insure compliance with FCC standards Monitor and review system material management procedures, inventory control, safety-training program and security to insure compliance with standard operating procedures Maintain records as required by system, regional, and corporate offices, the FCC, and other government agencies Perform other duties as requested by supervisor PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS A. Skills/Abilities and Knowledge Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to prioritize and organize effectively Ability to supervise and motivate others Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, etc.) Knowledge & understanding of the testing and reporting of technical proofs of performance Knowledge of all aspects of CATV operations as defined by performance and maintenance of equipment and electronics operating parameters Knowledge of cable television products and services Knowledge of construction practices and specifications and headend operation & standards Knowledge of Installation/Service requirements both as it relates to staff & procedures Knowledge of the capital and operating budget process Vision ability: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus B. Education (level and type) Bachelorīs degree in electronic engineering or related field, or equivalent experience NCTI Advanced Technical Certification or equivalent FCC General Telephone/Telegraph license or equivalent SCTE Certification or equivalent C. Related Work Experience Number Of Years CATV technical management experience 5 WORKING CONDITIONS Office environment Exposure to periodic high noise levels Ability to safely use weight-bearing equipment (such as gaffs, safety harness and ladders) within the maximum weight limitations of that equipment
