Currently, we are looking for a Fuels and Lubricants Engineer at our Columbus, Indiana location. As a Fuels and Lubricants Engineer some of your responsibilities will include: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide support to VPI teams and Service engineering in failure analysis and design improvement. Develop and implement engine or bench tests that define Cummins requirements for lubricant quality. Manage Cummins Certified Parts business; coordinate with parts suppliers and certified parts distributor Review and authorize lubricant quality submissions against Cummins Engineering Standards Develop new and support existing engineering standards for fuels and lubricants SKILLS - FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL: BS or MS (preferred) in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Minimum of 5 years related experience Familiarity with fuel/lubricant/coolant chemistry and associated analytical methods Familiarity with diesel engine design and performance, failure analysis, tribology, electronic service tools Mechanical aptitude SKILLS - QUALITY/IMPROVEMENT: 6S training in DFSS or DMAIC Familiarity with quality systems. Familiarity with laboratory safety regulations and requirements SKILLS - TEAMWORK: Experience in Team Based Work Systems. Experience with both union and professional staff. SKILLS - LEADERSHIP: Must be motivated, goal oriented self-starter Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills Must demonstrate ability to lead cross-functional teams with external partners TRAVEL REQUIRED (%): 10-15% Interested candidates please send a confidential resume for consideration.
