Matrix Partners, an EFFIE award-winning, Chicago-based marketing

communications firm, seeks a public relations freelancer to service several

active accounts - minimum 20 hrs per week and growing. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of national consumer packaged goods experience as well as the following background and skillsets:

• established relationships with editors at top 50 U.S. newspapers and

leading women's consumer magazines

• adept at managing media relations, writing press releases and pitching

editorial concepts

• familiar with planning and coordinating events

• comfortable attending 4 trade shows in the U.S. per year

• available for agency and client meetings, mostly in Chicago

• detail-oriented, with a solid grasp of strategic objectives

• ability to develop and manage ongoing PR programs and events at both

national and local levels

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, English or

related field

• strong verbal and written communication skills

• love for pets a major plus

• agreeable to interfacing with prospects and clients under the Matrix Partners brand
