Research Manager, Applications with a leading specialty chemical company. The Applications Manager will work closely with Marketing and R&D to maintain a State-of-the-Art program of innovative formulations chemistry and new product development. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1)      Maintain a safe and effective formulations/applications lab

2)      Manage multiple laboratory projects for a team of 3-5 chemists

3)      Perform laboratory work approximately 30% of the time

4)      Attend business team and departmental meetings

5)      Visit key customers (approx. 1 visit per quarter). 

6)      Any other duties assigned by management.

REQUIRED:

BA, BS, MS, or PhD degree in Chemistry.  5-10 years of formulation experience with many types of personal care products including shampoos, conditioners, and other leave on and rinse off formulations. Strong presentation and technical writing skills as well as significant customer interface is essential.  Proficient use of MS Office required.  Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (5%-10%).
