We’re seeking extraordinary individuals to challenge us and themselves by filling vital roles throughout our company. Current open position:

Forester

Full Time

This position will cruise and establish volume and value of prospective private timber holdings.  Negotiate with private landowners to purchase standing timber so as to supply fiber and fuel to Sappi mills and provide sundry income to the company.  Work with the Area Manager, Wood Procurement to design harvest plans, hire harvesting contractors and supervise safe, profitable and environmentally sound harvests that are designed to meet both landowner and company objectives.  Act as a resource in influencing public opinion and policy such as in legislative and public referendum initiatives.

Minimum education and skills required include a B.S in Forestry, State Foresters License with 2-5 years’ related job experience, background in forest management, harvest planning & supervision, forest road construction, timber-cruising , stumpage  and  market pricing  knowledge.  Preferred skills include management and interpersonal skills, negotiating skills, knowledge of computer spreadsheets and up-to- date related technology such as mapping applications.
